Dulles Airport Is Becoming a Showcase for Virginia Beer, Spirits and Hospitality

Washington Dulles International Airport is rapidly expanding its collection of bars, breweries and full-service restaurants, with several Virginia alcohol brands taking prominent locations inside one of the country’s busiest terminals.

The latest additions include airport locations for 2 Silos Brewing Co. and Clyde’s, both now open. A second wave arrives when Dulles opens its new Concourse E in October, bringing Honor Brewing, MurLarkey Distilled Spirits, Aventino and a new airport bar concept to the concourse.

Concepts involving Aslin Beer Co. and Social House were announced earlier in the airport’s concessions redevelopment, though neither has an opening date and neither appears in the airport’s dining directory.

Together the projects represent a shift in how Dulles approaches airport dining. Instead of relying primarily on national chains and generic airport bars, the airport is increasingly using recognizable regional businesses to introduce travelers to Virginia’s hospitality and craft beverage industries.

2 Silos Brewing opens in Concourse B

2 Silos Brewing Co. is now operating near Gate B37 in Concourse B.

The airport describes the location as a full-service restaurant serving breakfast, appetizers, salads, burgers, sandwiches and entrees. Its full-service bar offers draft beer, wine and spirits. It is open daily from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m., according to the Dulles airport directory.

2 Silos anchors the Farm Brew LIVE campus at Innovation Park in Prince William County, outside Manassas, an entertainment and hospitality development built around the brewery. The airport location gives the company exposure to millions of domestic and international passengers without requiring travelers to make the drive.

The arrangement follows a pattern common in airport dining, where the names and products of established local businesses appear on locations run day to day by experienced airport concession operators.

Clyde’s adds a third Virginia location

Clyde’s opened near Gate D16 in Concourse D in mid-June, a 3,200-square-foot, 150-seat restaurant operating from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m.

The restaurant brings the company’s familiar American bar and restaurant format to the airport. Clyde’s is known throughout the Washington region for burgers, seafood, seasonal dishes and full-service bars.

It is the group’s third Virginia location. Clyde’s continues to operate Clyde’s at Mark Center in Alexandria and Clyde’s Willow Creek Farm in Broadlands. Clyde’s of Reston closed in 2022 after 31 years at Reston Town Center, and Clyde’s of Tysons Corner closed in 2017, so the airport restaurant restores a Clyde’s presence to that stretch of the Dulles corridor. Dulles lists the restaurant as a local concession operating daily near Gate D16.

Honor Brewing and MurLarkey headed to Concourse E

The largest expansion is still ahead.

Dulles is scheduled to open its 435,000-square-foot Concourse E in October. The airports authority board was told on Sept. 16 that the opening had moved from late September into October; no specific day has been announced. The United Airlines concourse will include 14 gates, direct AeroTrain access, a 40,000-square-foot United Club and more than 44,000 square feet of shopping, dining and customer amenities.

Two Virginia alcohol producers will be among its most prominent local businesses.

Honor Brewing will operate a full-service restaurant and a licensed brewery in the concourse, with a gastropub menu and its own beers. The veteran-owned brewery is based in Sterling and also operates in Fairfax County, and directs part of its mission toward honoring members of the military, veterans and first responders.

MurLarkey Distilled Spirits will bring a Virginia distillery brand into the new concourse. Founded in Prince William County, MurLarkey produces whiskey, gin, vodka and other spirits using Virginia agricultural products. The airport describes the concept, MurLarkey Distilled Spirits Flights & Bites, as “100% farm-to-flask, everything from corn and rye to barley comes from Virginia farms,” paired with a menu of American favorites.

MurLarkey’s airport location will be a hospitality operation rather than a distillery. Its spirits will be produced at the company’s Prince William County facility and supplied to the airport through the applicable distribution and concession arrangements.

Concourse E will include several additional bars

Concourse E will also feature Aventino, an Italian American restaurant from chef Mike Friedman, whose original is in Bethesda, Maryland. The airport location is planned as a full-service, family-friendly restaurant with a central bar, made-to-order dishes and grab-and-go options.

The concourse food court will include a bar called B.A.R. Flights alongside Wendy’s, Jimmy John’s, Dunkin’ and Dos Toros Taqueria. Earlier announcements identified the food-court bar as Stratus Bar; the airport’s updated February 2026 concessions list now names B.A.R. Flights.

Ellie Bird, the Falls Church restaurant from chefs Carey and Yuan Tang, will also open in the concourse. The Tangs’ Washington restaurant, Rooster & Owl, has held a Michelin star since 2021. Other food businesses will include Bonchon, Rusty Taco, Good Company Doughnuts & Cafe and Starbucks, along with retail concepts including District & Co., Mercantile 1749, Tidal Trading, Gameway, Travel Tech and Beltway Bites.

Duty Free Americas will operate retail space selling alcohol, tobacco, cosmetics, perfumes and other goods eligible for duty-free sales to qualifying international travelers.

Aslin and Social House remain unconfirmed

The Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority announced in May 2025 that Aslin Beer Co. and Social House would be developed at Dulles as part of a group of new concessions.

Aslin was described as a local brewery with a diverse menu. The brewery operates five taprooms: Herndon, Alexandria, Virginia Beach, Washington and Pittsburgh.

Social House was announced as an eclectic restaurant concept offering local craft beers on tap. Its Northern Virginia footprint has since changed considerably. The Ashburn location closed and became a Makers Union in 2025, and the South Riding location closed in January.

Neither business appears in the airport’s online dining directory, and the Airports Authority has not published an opening date for either. Both should be treated as announced rather than confirmed.

Part of a much larger restaurant redevelopment

Dulles has delivered 47 new or renovated concessions since 2023, part of a program covering more than 80 locations across both airports the authority runs.

Recent alcohol-serving additions include Gatsby in Concourse C, Rappahannock Oyster Bar in Concourse B, Fiolina, Urban Crave and Plum Market in Concourse A, and Grille District in Concourse D. Existing concepts such as Devil’s Backbone Taproom in Concourse C and Vino Volo in Concourse B already provide craft beer and wine options, and the Capital One Lounge, which operates separately from the airport’s concessions program, has its own full-service bar.

The expansion comes as Dulles handles record passenger traffic. The airport served 29,008,839 passengers in 2025, up 6.4 percent from 27.3 million in 2024, according to the Airports Authority’s December 2025 air traffic summary. Preliminary FAA figures reported in July showed Dulles with the highest rate of passenger growth of any of the 50 largest U.S. airports last year, moving it to 22nd busiest in the country from 24th.

For Virginia breweries, distilleries and restaurant groups, Dulles offers something a conventional location cannot: daily access to travelers from across the United States and around the world.

With 2 Silos and Clyde’s already open and Concourse E arriving next month, Dulles is positioning its bars and restaurants as part of the region’s identity rather than simply a place to buy something before a flight.
