Where it says it works
Surry County, VA. The About page says Surry "embodies the unspoiled rural beauty of Colonial Virginia," is bordered on its northeastern edge by the James River, sits a short commute from Richmond, Virginia Beach, Newport News, Hampton and Norfolk, and is marketed as "Virginia South of the James" - "located across the James River from the historic sites of Jamestown, Williamsburg, and Yorktown." Named attractions include Bacon's Castle, Smith's Fort Plantation and Chippokes Plantation State Park.
Verification note
DOMAIN REDIRECTS: the listed surrycountytourism.com now redirects to the CivicPlus-hosted address https://va-surrycountytourism.civicplus.com/ - editors should note the destination. PHONE CHANGED: the tourism office publishes 757-294-0644 (visitors center 757-294-3568); the state's (757) 758-0146 appears nowhere. General email tourism@surrycountyva.gov replaces the state's dharrison@ address. NO NAMED STAFF: the staff directory lists only "Tourism Office" and "Visitors Center Attendant," so David Harrison is not carried over. Virginia confirmed - tourism office at 267 Church Street, Surry, VA 23883 (Surry County VA, not Surry County NC; the county, not just the Town of Surry).
