Virginia visitors spent a record $36.2 billion in 2025
The statewide figure is out. Locality-level numbers, which is where operators can actually see their own market, are due around Labor Day.

Governor Spanberger announced on August 11 that visitor spending in Virginia reached a record $36.2 billion in 2025.
The statewide number is the headline. The Virginia Tourism Corporation has said the 2025 locality-specific data will be available around Labor Day.
For scale on what those breakdowns show: Loudoun County led the Commonwealth in 2023 with $4.5 billion in visitor spending, up 12.5% over 2022, supporting 18,213 tourism jobs and $1.1 billion in wages, and generating $147.4 million in local tax revenue.
